21 Things I Have Learned in 21 Years
21!!!! Can’t believe the day is finally here! In celebration of today, I thought I would reflect a bit and think about some things I have learned over the years.
It’s all in your head
I have had so many times where I get so wrapped up in what others think about me and what I am doing. It gets to a point where I wonder if anyone else feels the same way. I have learned that more often than not, it’s all in your head! You are your own worst enemy and you shouldn’t be!
Don’t try to see how long you can go without filling up your car with gas
This one is just a mental note for myself...had to learn this one the hard way! LOL
Things WILL get better
I used to (and sometimes still do) have such a hard time with not being able to see good out of a situation. I would constantly go to the worst case scenario or overthink myself into a worse situation. Remembering that whatever is going on will eventually get better (while tough at times) has made it much easier to get through certain situations. We can’t know the future and that is OKAY!
Treat yo self
It’s always good to do every once in a while!
Sometimes you just need to cry it out
AND THAT IS OKAY. Let yourself feel whatever you're going through and ask for help when you need it!
DRINK MORE WATER
DO IT.
You are who you surround yourself with
Didn’t believe it until I saw it. Surround yourself with those who will always lift you up!!
It’s okay to take time for yourself
We all need a little alone time...doing life can be a lot!
You don’t have to explain yourself to other people
If something makes you happy or you aren’t in the mood to join in with something, you don’t need to feel bad about that. Do what’s best for you!
Trust in God!!
It’s all in His hands!
Be true to yourself
Don’t change who you are because others are making you feel that you have to. Be yourself all the time!!
DO. THE. DAMN. THING.
If you have a dream, a business, a blog, a book- start it, create it, JUST DO IT! You will surprise yourself and you will not regret it!
Take care of yourself
Get 8 hours of sleep! Eat a balanced diet! Drink more water! Exercise when you can! Your body and mind will thank you!
Decaf coffee is always good too…
Again, another mental note...the caffeine addiction has gotten quite bad.
Be grateful for your past hardships
They made you who you are today, right? There are blessings in disguise in everything...let go of any anger you're holding on to!
Take a deep breath
Always remember to take a step back and just breathe. If you're upset just take a breath and try to calm down before saying or doing something you may regret!
Be straightforward with people
If you need to explain yourself, do it. If you have questions, ask them. If you need to tell someone how you feel, tell them!! Don’t let silly miscommunications get in the way of good relationships.
You can only love other people to the extent that you love yourself
You are AMAZING! Spread that love and amazingness all over!
Always read the directions fully
Why do I still make the mistake of not doing this?? The answers are right there!
Take some phone and Social Media breaks
You DON’T always need to know what is going on in other people’s lives!
DRINK RESPONSIBLY
And only if you’re 21 and over ;)
