2021 Bucket List

Right before the New Year begins I always like to reflect and look forward to the following year. Pretty normal- I feel like most people do this. However, in that past few years I started putting together a yearly Bucket List. I always call these lists “x things to do before x year.” It usually ends up looking like “22 things to do before 2022.” The one I had planned out for 2020 did get a little messed up due to COVID, but it made me feel that this year maybe I should be a little more realistic with my list. Putting things on there that are my small achievements or things I actually want to do and can do, instead of going big like in the past. I found that in the past, when I had those bigger things on my list, it was overwhelming to constantly look at and made me feel not great when I couldn’t do them.

I think that having this kind of list is great for manifesting and focusing on what you really want out of the year. It can be anything like going to a park you have always wanted to visit to trying a new food you’d never thought of trying. It may not seem like a lot, but doing these small things and knowing that 1) it’s a new thing for you and 2) that you are truly enjoying the experience can make your year so much more exciting. Along with that, it’s also fun to check things off the list and if you were to finish early you could always add more. One of the things on my list this year was to make an instagram reel. SO SMALL RIGHT? Not a huge task or extravagant trip, but it made me focus on learning a new skill and coming up with some new ideas.

Here are a few things on my 22 things to do before 2022 bucket list:

  1. Rock Climb

  2. Visit one of my best friends in Kentucky

  3. Run a 5k in under 30 minutes

  4. Read 5 books this year

  5. Bake a pie from scratch

Even though these may seem small, I am extremely excited to try to do all the things on this list! I challenge you to make a list like this for yourself! It is super fun and a great way to hone in on what you would like to focus on this year. If you do try this out, share it with me! I would love to see!
